The Limassol Archaeological Museum is opening its storage rooms to the public with an exhibition of artefacts, most of which will be displayed for the first time.
According to an announcement from the department of antiquities, the exhibition ‘From the Storage Rooms’ will open on May 18, at 7.30pm.
The event is to mark International Museum Day and the European Night of Museums 2015. The exhibition will last until June 30.
“Old and new finds, which for various reasons remain `forgotten`, wait for their turn to be exhibited and receive admiration from the public”, the announcement said.
Exhibits include humble clay vessels and statues, objects of everyday life and valuable jewellery, tools and terracotta figurines.
